The Sunday Funnies
Dorothy relayed from school: "Boaen got on orange today." "What did he do?" I asked with shock. "He was spoken to three times," Dorothy shared.
I showed Dorothy a pair of pants and pointed out that there were rhinestones on the legs. She gasped, "Are they real?"
Dorothy has started to read some simple books comprised of 3-letter words. I asked her if she wanted to read the books again, and she said, "Only if you promise not to cry this time."

The Sunday Funnies
Dorothy wanted to do a laundry load comprised of her doll's clothes. For some reason she named it the "baby wash," as in, "Oh! I know where the missing dress is. It's in the baby wash."
We saw a dead squirrel on the road on our walk to the playground; on the way home, it was gone. "Maybe it was playing dead," I suggested. Dorothy answered thoughtfully, "Well, I didn't see any cuts on it, or flat parts."
Dorothy was watching a YouTube video of a young lady who sets-up enormous domino art. This time, the venue seemed foreign. "I think they're in another country," I said. "I don't recognize the language that man is speaking." "I don't know what country they're in," Dorothy answered. A moment later, she added, "The girl said that she is breaking the Turkish record."
[Flashback to our Christmas travels]: Dorothy observed the graffiti covering an entire bathroom door. She asked about it, and I answered that someone wrote all of it. "They had a lot to say," she replied.
Then she started asking questions. "I don't know what that word means," I said. "I think that person can't spell very well." "Why not?" Dorothy wondered. "They were a big person because they wrote all the way up to the top of the door."

The Sunday Funny
Dorothy looked at a box of Rice Krispies, pointed to the three characters, and said knowingly, "Pop, Snack, & Crinkle."

The Sunday Funnies: Christmas Edition
Dorothy watched a movie called The Star at school, and she proceeded to tell us about it multiple times a day for two weeks. Usually, a Christmas song would come on, and she would say, "This song was in The Star!"
Dorothy's school put on a nativity play, and the preschoolers only entered the auditorium for their two-song showstopper. Dorothy never realized that the play included all the classes and lasted longer than five minutes. For example, when we watched the movie The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Dorothy commented, "Their show has all the parts of the story about Jesus, but our school only did the part about the angels."
She has heard much about the nativity story and refers to the angel "Gabrielle".
In Chicago we had the chance to drive through several passes with trains above, and each time, I suggested that we make wishes. This happened six or seven times. When we got home to Savannah, Dorothy was eager to rush to her bedroom. A few minutes later, she came out sheepishly and whispered to me sadly, "Mom, do your wishes ever come true?" (It turns out she was holding out hope that her bedroom would be filled with new LOL dolls.)
When we returned from Chicago Brian took down the large wreaths off our house. Dorothy observed, "Our Christmas outside is gone, but our Christmas inside is a mess."
