The Sunday Funnies

Dorothy told me about a boy at school who was annoying her.  "Why don't you cast a spell on him?" I joked.  "He doesn't know that I believe in those sorts of things," she told me.

I picked up my car after getting the bumper fixed, and there was a paper floor mat in the floorboard of the driver's seat that showed a pair of dirty footprints and the words "Thank you!"  We got in the car, and Dorothy gasped.  "They left a surprise for you!" she said.

After having no power for 9 days, it was restored on Saturday, and went out again on Sunday as we were leaving the house for a playdate.  Dorothy asked, "If the power isn't back on by the end of the playdate, can we just drive around in the truck all night?"

Dorothy's math homework continues to be annoying because it focuses so much on strategies and processes.  She was completing a sheet about prime numbers where she had to draw endless "arrays" and such.  To answer the question, she told me, "you have to pretend that you have no idea what the answer is."
