Dorothy: What do cats eat?
Sarah: Cats who live in the wild eat bugs and mice.
Dorothy: What do they drink?
Sarah: They drink water.
Dorothy: Do they drink milk?
Sarah: Baby kittens drink milk from their moms, but big cats drink water.
Dorothy: Do big cats drink water and milk not from their moms? Is there underground milk?
Sarah: Do you want to go see the Alvin & the Chipmunks movie?
Dorothy: What are their names?
Sarah: Alvin, Simon, & Theodore.
Dorothy: Are they boys or girls?
Sarah: Boys.
Dorothy: Are there any girl chipmunks in the movie?
Sarah: I think there is one.
Dorothy: Is she a mom? Is she a baby? Is she a baby and a mom?
Somehow I ended up telling Dorothy that she can be a boss someday. She said, "I don't want to be a boss. I want to be a doctor."
We were taking a walk after a big rain. Water was still pouring into the sewer, and Dorothy was pulling from at least two previous conversations --
Dorothy: Do you hear the water in the gutter? I love the sound of nature.
We were playing Elsa and Anna. Dorothy said, "Elsa, let's pretend to be Lumpy and Roo."
So we pretended for a while to be Lumpy and Roo (from Winnie the Pooh), until Dorothy's Roo said to me, "Lumpy, have you heard of Elsa and Anna?"
