In addition to their teacher, Jill, Dorothy's school had a student named Jill join. Dorothy said, "Can you believe we already have a Ms. Jill and now we have another Jill but tinier?"
Dorothy and I were watching Ant-Man, which is her first superhero movie. She was asking lots of questions about how Paul Rudd got so small, and I was trying to explain that they used electricity like magic and put him in a machine to make him as small as an ant. She kept interjecting, "But how they act like that?" After a few rounds of this, Dorothy said, "That's not what I mean. I mean how do they make him look so small for making the movie?"
Sarah: Are you sure you want me to cut the pictures off of this box?
Dorothy: I'm sure.
I started cutting.
Dorothy: I changed my mind. You're gonna need some tape.
I handed Dorothy a new box of markers. A moment later she handed it back to me. The grey, brown, and black markers were still inside the box, and she explained, "I don't want these color yuckies."
For making play dough and other things, I bought the cheapest salt on the shelf. We call it the "craft salt." After making a concoction, Dorothy asked, "Can you eat craft salt?" I said yes and launched into an overly-long explanation of iodized versus non-iodized salt. When I was done, she said, "Because some of the craft salt got in my mouth."
