We were waiting with other moms, kids, and siblings for ballet class to start. One little baby was being walked around with her mom's help. Dorothy announced to the room, "Look at that cute baby girl. She's almost bald. But she's wearing a little bow headband!"
As I tucked her in Dorothy asked me if I could "wake her up in the morning with 3 new LOL dolls."
I asked, "You mean you want me to go to the store, buy LOLs, and give them to you in the morning?"
"Nooooo," she said, "online!"
Dorothy was copying my words, so I decided to have a little fun.
Sarah: I wish I had a mom named Sarah.
Dorothy: I wish I had a mom named Sarah.
Sarah: And she would be tall and nice.
Dorothy: And she would be tall and nice.
Sarah: And I would love her more than LOLs.
Dorothy: And I would love her [pause] as much as LOLs.
Dorothy is ultra-competitive nowadays; her little friend Willa is not. We were playing Win Lose or Draw, and as I drew each picture, and Dorothy guessed the right answer, Dorothy and Willa would each make an exclamation.
I drew a watermelon.
Dorothy: Watermelon!
Me: Right!
Dorothy: I guessed it first! I win!
Willa: Watermelon is so yummy!
I drew grapes.
Dorothy: Grapes!
Me: Right!
Dorothy: I guessed it first! I win!
Willa: I love grapes!
I drew a swimming pool.
Dorothy: A pool!
Me: Right!
Dorothy: I guessed it first! I win!
Willa: Swimming is so much fun!
I took Dorothy to the doctor where she was diagnosed with pink eye. I explained to the doctor, "Yesterday she started looking puffy under her eye, and her eyeball is pink." Dorothy added, "And it sticks." We looked at her -- "What?" She looked back at us, winked very slowly, and said, "When I do this, it sticks."
