Dorothy's spelling homework was to do a practice test outdoors in sidewalk chalk. There were 8 words. When she was done, I started to "grade" it. I said, "skills...correct...10%. rocks...correct...20%." Dorothy stopped me right away. "You're only going to give me 80%?" she figured out.

Dorothy's class has an elf that moves around at night. I asked Dorothy, "Where does she live when it's not Christmas? I mean, what does Ms. Hattrich do with her?" And Dorothy informed me, "Well, she's from the North Pole, so I assume she lives there."
