I assured Dorothy that when I was out-of-town with my high school friends last weekend, she didn't miss anything. "We went to a furniture store," I told her, "so there was nothing fun for kids." She asked, "So the store didn't have any of those little tables with pencils for legs?"
Dorothy was talking about various American Girl characters, such as Mollie from WWII and Kit from the Great Depression. Again and again, Dorothy referred to the characters from "different time zones."
