Bunny love
We went to a program about bunnies at a local wildlife center. Dorothy was a model student, sitting in her place in circle time while the teacher offered introductions, sang a song, and read a book. After about ten minutes Dorothy quietly stood up and walked across the room to me, then whispered in my ear, "When will we see a bunny?"

The Sunday Funnies
Sarah: My stomach doesn't feel good.**
Dorothy: Maybe you ate too much food.**
Sarah: Maybe.**
Dorothy: Want to watch some Peppa Pig to make yourself feel better?
Idina Menzel was on t.v., and I explained to Dorothy that she was the voice of Elsa in Frozen. After a little time passed, Dorothy said, "They keep calling her Idina, but actually her name is Elsa."
Sarah: I can't remember which toothbrush is mine and which one is your dad's.**
Dorothy: You have two choices: blue or green.
Sarah: I'll get you a glass of milk.**
Dorothy: No, a plastic.
Blowing bubbles:**
Sarah: Look! I made Glinda the Good Witch.**
Dorothy: Now make Dorothy Kansas.**
I spray-painted something, explaining to Dorothy that I was bored with the color. She looked around for something else to spray paint.**
Dorothy: "Let's do your car."**
Sarah: "We can't spray paint my car."**
Dorothy: "But I'm getting bored with the color."
Dorothy: Maybe you ate too much food.**
Sarah: Maybe.**

Dorothy: Mama, I yawned. Will you rub my head and sing a song so I can rest?**
Sarah: I'm tired, too. I'll just hum.**
Dorothy: No, I don't need you to hum.
Dorothy: I want some of your paint.**
Sarah: You have your own paint.**
Dorothy: I want some of your paint.**
Sarah: Please find something else to use. I just read to you for an hour. Now I need some time to myself.**
Dorothy: I want some of your time.
Dad: Good night!**
Dorothy: Good night. Don't let...the...bugs...eat you!
Sarah refilled the liquid hand soap dispenser. Dorothy pressed the top, soap came out, and she said, "Hey, this has new batteries!"
Offering Dorothy a large ricecake:**
Sarah: Do you want the whole thing, or half, like a moon?**
Dorothy: [Long thinking pause]...I want a circle moon.
Sarah: I'm tired, too. I'll just hum.**

Mom returns with milk to the deck where Dorothy is eating a snack.**
Dorothy: I want a glass.**
Mom: A cup will work just fine.**
Dorothy: You said, "Do you want A GLASS of milk?"!
Dorothy: Do you want to play Gjeorrhghhh?**
Mom: Say that again?**
Dorothy: Do you want to play Gjeorrhghhh?**
Mom: I don't understand your word. Tell me about the game so I can figure out what you're talking about.**
Dorothy: I am saying the right word.
Talking to her baby doll:**
Dorothy: Do you want a pretend candy heart, Baby?
Mom: What happened here? I see a mess.**
Dorothy: I poured the water on the paper. Water is similar to paint.
Dorothy is entering her "why" stage. This is especially challenging for Mom when reading Dr. Seuss books.
Dorothy: I want a glass.**
