The Sunday Funnies

Dorothy started to take the cushions off the couch.  "That's too much mess," I said.  "You already have all the markers spilled, and the Frozen toys.  That's a lot to pick up."  Dorothy tossed a couch cushion and said, "It's worth it!"

I downloaded a Peppa Pig game for Dorothy.  I haven't watched her play it, but I'm guessing it's a game where you collect toys and are then awarded a pair of golden boots.  I'm guessing this because when Dorothy was begging me to let her play the game again, she said, "Aren't you curious to see what happens when I collect all the toys and get the golden boots?"

I asked Dorothy the time.  "Eight eighty," she said.  "Tell me the numbers," I followed.  "Eight, dot on the top, dot on the bottom, zero, eight," she answered.

Dorothy was listening to an audiobook of Because of Winn Dixie, a juvenile fiction book which references the Civil War.  Brian and I exchanged a look, wondering if we were willing to answer any questions that came up.  Dorothy didn't dwell on it, but the next day, there was an ad on t.v. for a Civil War documentary.  "Wait," Dorothy asked me, "The Civil War really happened?"
