The Sunday Funnies: Chicago Edition

I was getting Dorothy dressed for her first outing in Chicago, and she complained, "Why are we putting on a coat over a sweater?!"

We stepped outside on a cold Chicago day, and after a few breaths Dorothy exclaimed, "We're dragons!"

Dorothy followed me to the Deans' basement -- and she looked around in wonder, and proclaimed, "I love Grandma and Grandpa's whole house."

Grandma and Grandpa's house phone rang -- Dorothy glanced here and there, and noted, "The phone is ringing in two places!"

Grandma was taking something out of the oven, and she held up the heart-shaped red potholder that said "Hot Stuff."  "Look what this says," Grandma showed Dorothy.  "It's a good reminder," Dorothy replied solemnly.

At home Dorothy insists on washing her hands in cold water.  In Chicago the water is much chillier.  She was washing her hands at Grandma and Grandpa's house with a little bit of hot and a little bit of cold.  "This is the house where I discovered warm water," she remarked.
