The Sunday Funny
Dorothy popped out of bed once again. "Mom," she said, "I need a you doll. If I had a doll that looked just like you, I could keep it in my bed, and I wouldn't have to keep getting out of bed to come be near you."

The Sunday Funnies
Dorothy: Will you read me this Betsy book?
Sarah: No, I'm busy right now.
Dorothy: You don't want to read me the Besty book, and Dad doesn't want to read me the Betsy book, and I want to read the Betsy book, but I can't read!
I gave Dorothy two cute pencils and she insisted on sharpening both right away. Then she tested both the pink pencil and the purple pencil and said with disappointment, "They both write grey."
Dorothy asked to eat a "Kitty Kat" (a Kit Kat), and Brian started to sing the jingle for her, which she had never heard.
Brian: Gimme a break, gimme a break, break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar!
Sarah continued: That chocolate crispy taste is gonna make you... (pause, trying to think of lyrics)
Dorothy offered: Thirsty?
Dorothy saw a picture in a catalog of a kid playing inside a cardboard box that had been made to look like a television. We took out a box, and she explained to Brian what she wanted to do: "We'll cut a hole to make a 'card box' t.v., and I'll crawl inside, and then I will talk about stuff."

The Sunday Funny
Dorothy: Mom, this cupcake has hard icing, but most cupcakes have soft icing.
Sarah: Yes, that's a Hostess Cupcake, and they always have hard icing and that little swirl.
(Time passes.)
Dorothy: Mom, this Hostess Cupcake has some white gooey stuff inside!

The Sunday Funnies
We went to a trunk-or-treat and came home with a bag of candy. Dorothy dumped her candy on the floor and started putting it in little piles. Then she said, "Ms. Candace says you can sort anything."
Dorothy is being moved to a new class at school. I told her, "Do you remember that you're moving to Ms. Mary's class on Monday? They might even move your cubby." Dorothy said, "They don't move the cubby. They just move the name."
Dorothy had $1.07 in change and we went to the Dollar Store to spend it on one item and tax. She brought her toy to the check-out and dumped-out her money. A nickel must have been stuck in the bottom of her change purse. The cashier said, "I need another nickel." Dorothy stood still, looked at her expectantly, and stated factually, "It's missing."
