The Sunday Funnies
I noticed that Dorothy was holding a booger and asked her to go wash her hands. She returned and said, "I washed the booger, so it doesn't have germs on it anymore."
We were listening to a story about superpowers. "I want my superpower to be flying, and breathing under water," Dorothy said. "Oh, and the power to go to sleep right away by lullaby. That would really help me."
Dorothy was struggling to read the words "tennis shoes" and once she sounded it out, she exclaimed, "What!? Why did they spell it like that? It's 'ten-a shoes.'"
I wiggled Dorothy's tooth and told her that I think it might come out this weekend. "Do you think the Tooth Fairy works on the weekends?" she asked.

Bad news, good news
Bad news: Dorothy fell off her bike yesterday and cracked her helmet.
Good news: She is okay, and got a new helmet out of the deal.
(When she was wee, and barely talking, I chose a bike helmet for her at Target that was light blue with a street scene. She understood shopping, and when we moved to the next aisle, though she talked very little, she demanded, "Pink! Butterflies! Go back!" So we went back and got the pink helmet with the butterflies. As you can see, once again, Dorothy chose her own helmet.)
